The Future is Foiling

Join Coach Agustin Ferrario at SSA November 11 & 12 for an Introduction to Foiling Clinic on Waszps. 

This is not a learn-to-sail clinic. This clinic is open to Junior Sailor with proficient sailing skills and adult sailors who would like to give foiling a shot!

This weekend clinic includes shared use of a Waszp, classroom lessons, and coaching. Participants must bring their own lunch, water, and snacks as well as all necessary sailing gear. Sailors who wish to attend must attend both days of the clinic.

The weCANfoil program was created in Canada with the mission to get sailors foiling by providing training opportunities, sailing camps and demo days across the country. WeCANfoil is your first step to flight and an opportunity to get on a pathway to pro. 

About Coach Agustin: 

Originally he grew up sailing in Argentina where it became his life passion. He started coaching in Halifax, Canada 13 years ago, focusing on youth development. Through the America’s Cup in San Francisco in 2013, he got into foiling and now he gets to combine coaching youth with foiling through WeCANFoil.

During SailGP Season 3 in San Francisco he is coaching the 17 Waszp finalists sailors from all over the world at the Inspire Final.

Helmets would be great for sailors who have any. Otherwise we do have a few to provide (7).

 Highly recommended gear:

- Wetsuit or similar (avoid drypants and drysuits)

- Sailing boots (important as well for feet protection)

- Gloves

- windproof jacket for when sailors go on a coach boat.

Must bring:

- reusable water bottle

- on water snacks

Please arrive at SSA ready to begin at 09:30. The clinic will run 9:30 - 5:00 each day. 

There is a new gate installed at the club. If you do not have a keyfob, you will not be able to enter the lot and must park on the street. All parking in Eastport is free. There will be no parking at SSA for any participants on Sunday so please plan accordingly.
